Calixto Z was foaled in October 1999, he is a jumper who was imported from Argentina in December 2003. He is registered with the Zangersheide Studbook and approved by the Argentine Studbook. He boasts an outstanding bloodline which includes Ramiro Z (twice), Alme Z (x3), Ahorn Z, and Cor de la Bryere. Calixto's sire, Cor d' Alme Z, was a winning Grand Prix jumper ridden by Joe Fargis and shown in Dressage by Robert Dover. His grandfather, Cor de la Bryere, is one of the most important stallions in modern show jumping with numerous prestigious sons such as Contender. Calixto's maternal grandfather, Rebel II Z is a full brother to Ratina Z and Rebel I Z. His paternal relatives are in Argentina and include Gama Cantabrica, winner of the Argentine Breeder's Cup in 2003 and Gama Calvet Z, a syndicated stallion. In 2003, Calixto Z was the Reserve National Argentine Champion in the Jumper Breeder's Cup and was National Champion in the Dressage Breeder's Cup. He was also voted the best young horse at the finals for the Breeder's Cup by the International Judges from Europe and the US. Having qualified for the Young Jumper Championships Finals as a Five, Six and Seven Year Old, Calixto Z has placed in the top ten in the East Coast Finals as a Five Year Old and in the top 15 as a Six Year Old. Calixto Z made his debut in the Open Jumper Classics with placings in each class. "Cali" has also shown in the Green Conformation Hunters and the Adult Medals, earning top ribbons in those divisions. Calixto Z has numerous sons and daughters in Argentina and Europe. They are well saught after and often the highest priced horses at the sport horse auctions there. His oldest US foals are now yearlings and are already winning on the line at top Sport Horse Shows around the US. All his foals are stamped with his beautiful and proud looks and pleasing personality. |
